• Update: 30 Days Later These Boneheads Broke My Cart/Checkout Again – Bad shortcuts – NOT RECOMMENDED – AVOID

Tired of plugin conflicts, upgrades that aren’t tested.

Woo likes to blame themes and other plugins instead of taking responsibility.

I will change my review when they change their upgrade ‘behavior’ and posting a change log for all to see.

I wasted 9 hours trying to fix a broken cart that would not allow customers to remove items, change quantities or check out as a guest. Luckily I have other sites with the exact same configuration (call it A/B testing). It turns out Woo changed the short code on my checkout and cart pages.

If you have my problem you should look for these codes:

    Cart: <!– wp:shortcode — >[woocommerce_cart]<!–/wp:shortcode –>

    Checkout: <!– wp:shortcode –> [woocommerce_checkout]<!– /wp:shortcode –>

I had a ton of garbage code on those pages after upgrading plugin to 9.02 that caused the cart to stop working. All on woo for lack of transparency.

    Hi @headly,

We understand the importance of having a reliable and up-to-date plugin for your sites.

We want to highlight that WooCommerce is tested and updated every month, as you can see on the developers tab of the WordPress plugin page:?WooCommerce Developers Tab.

We actively announce these updates via our blog at developer.woocommerce.com and they are also shared on the WordPress plugin page. You should see a notification about the update on your WP-Admin > Installed Plugins page.

It’s important to note that while we ensure our new releases are compatible with the vast majority of themes and plugins, it is up to the third-party developers of those themes and plugins to update their products to align with the latest release of WooCommerce. Sometimes, conflicts can arise if a plugin or theme has not been updated for a long time. In such cases, we strongly recommend reaching out to the respective developer’s support team to request an update. You can also test the updates on a staging site first, and then push the changes to the live site after you confirm that the third-party plugins/themes are not conflicting.

We appreciate your understanding and hope this information helps to improve your experience with WooCommerce.
