Drag and drop Javascript widget used in the "menus" section

  • Not sure if this is the correct place to ask this, but I am wondering about the Javascript used to power the drag and drop menu widget in the “Menus” section (under the appearance tab: /wp-admin/nav-menus.php).

    I’d really like to adapt this for my own use. I am trying to figure out how it works – it seems to be using jQuery, but I am wondering if it is proprietory WordPress code.

    Does anybody have any information on this widget (or where I can get more info about it)?

    There is no proprietary code in WordPress. It’s licenced under GPL.
