    Hi,

I hope you can help me.

I need to know how to charge shipping per unit of product purchased with woocommerce.

That is, if a user adds a product to the cart, a shipping cost is added. (that is normal) But if you add two products (of the same product) that adds two shipping costs, three products, three shipping costs.

This is due to the nature of the product, they are water packs that weigh a lot and the shipping cost must be added for each pack.

How can it be configured? Or what plugin do I need to do that?

    Thanks in advance.

    Ana

    Hi @anabsw

Thank you for reaching out — we’re happy to help!

As I understand, this can be set up with a formula for flat rate shipping.

For reference, feel free to take a look at the document linked here.

The advanced flat rate shipping section would be of particular interest for your use case.

I trust that points you in the right direction, but if you have more questions, let us know.

    We’re happy to help.

    Hi anastas10s,

Thanks for your quick response. and you are very kind to help me. ??

I don’t know if the flat formula you tell me will work.

The thing is that each product has a different shipping price and to configure the shipping price per product, the WooCommerce Shipping Per Product v2 plugin is installed.

    I explain:

We have several types of products, some are packs of 3 3x5L water jugs, which weigh little and others are 1000L water containers that weigh a lot, so the shipping cost is logically different for each product depending on the shipping area. , that’s why I thought that plugin would help.

And I have been able to configure in that add-on the prices by shipping zone for each product, but I do not see in that add-on that it can be configured to add a shipping cost to each product within the same order.

What it does is that it adds a shipping cost per order and if there are three identical products in that order, it only charges one shipping cost. I need you to charge three shipping costs, since the courier provider charges me that cost for each package.

For example, logically, you cannot send 2 1000L containers with only one shipping price, two shipping costs must be charged.

I hope I have explained myself well.

Can you help me solve this problem?

There must be a way to add up as many shipping costs as there are products in the order, right?

    with a plugin or with code… I don’t know…

I will be expecting your answer.

Thank you very much for your kindness.

    Hello anabsw

Thank you for your reply and explanation.

You should be able to achieve your goal just by using WooCommerce and no any other plugin.

Start by setting up Shipping Zones and then Flat Rate shipping methods.
Then use Shipping Classes to identify Heavy and Light products.
Lastly, use Advanced Cost to create a formula to calculate shipping costs per product.

I recommend that you go through the linked documentation.
There are a few examples that match your business case.

Let me know if you have any questions or need further assistance. ??

    Best regards.
