    Hi all,

    I receive a low security warning, saying

    Low Severity Problems:

    * Old WordPress core file not removed during update

    I couldn’t find “Old Core Files?plugin”. Please help. Thanks

    Regards

    Hi@macmanx,

    Thanks for your advice and link.

    If reading the link correctly, I can remove following 3 files to solve the problem;

    wp-includes/blocks/block/editor.min.css
    wp-includes/blocks/block/editor-rtl.min.css
    wp-includes/blocks/block/editor-rtl.css

    I can easily remove them via FileManager

    But not all my wordpress sites have FileManager installed. If NO how can I find and delete those 3 files?

    Thanks

    Regards

    Yes, those are the files to remove.

    To remove them, you’ll need to access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these).

    Hi@macmanx,

    Can I run SSH instead of FTP ?

    Anything that removes files from the server will work.

    Hi@macmanx,

    2 days before I have received following warning;
    Low Severity Problems:
    Old WordPress core file not removed during update: wp-includes/blocks/block/editor-rtl.css
    Old WordPress core file not removed during update: wp-includes/blocks/block/editor-rtl.min.css
    Old WordPress core file not removed during update: wp-includes/blocks/block/editor.css.
    Old WordPress core file not removed during update: wp-includes/blocks/block/editor.min.css

    Some of my websites have “File Manager” installed. Then running “File Manager” I renamed all of them to “xxx.css.old”.

    Today I received similar warning;
    Low Severity Problems:
    Old WordPress core file not removed during update: wp-includes/blocks/block/editor-rtl.css.old
    Old WordPress core file not removed during update: wp-includes/blocks/block/editor-rtl.min.css.old
    Old WordPress core file not removed during update: wp-includes/blocks/block/editor.css.old
    Old WordPress core file not removed during update: wp-includes/blocks/block/editor.min.css.old

    Then I have to delete all of them on “File Manager”. I don’t know whether they will be needed in future?

    Please advise. Thanks

    Regards

    Don’t rename them, just delete them.

    Hi@macmanx,

    Thanks. I’ll delete them.

    If there is any new discovery I’ll come back.

    Regards
