If we already have settings to control behavior of custom pop-ups on posts, pages and taxonomy, then what is the purpose of having a popup setting drop down on the right side in the block editor? It just creates clutter for no reason. What’s it there for and how can we hide it?

some other block plugins like stackable will force popup maker to the bottom which is nice, but with default gutenberg block, popup maker is hogging the top spot on the block editor options. boo!

    Hi @wordmax,

    Thanks for the post.

The Popup setting is there for users who wish to target their popups directly from the block editor.

You created this post some time ago so you must have added the workaround suggested by Mark here.

If you wish to remove the Popup Maker from the top, you can opt to disable the custom filter so Popup Controls is delegated back to the Settings tab. However, this would revert your original issue of having to click a lot to get to the Appearance tab.

WordPress 6.2 introduced a new client-side filter allowing you to modify block-level?theme.json settings?before the Editor is rendered. See here: Client-Side Filters

We’ll ask our dev team if it’s possible to hide Popup Controls using the new filter.

    We appreciate your patience. ??

Oh, yes we figured out how to turn off the TAB for popup maker on the editor controls… but can we just turn it off all together so we never see it on the right side in the editor controls list (expand/collapse rows on right) or at least make it always show up last on the list? Some plugins like Spectra or Stackable will take priority over popup maker forcing it to the last item on the list, but Gutenberg default does not… so popup maker takes priority in list order over gutenberg block style options. That seems wrong. Might want take a look and see what I mean. This is a turn-off for users I think. Thanks

    Hi @wordmax,

    Thanks for the response.

Our devs looked at the filter but concluded it was not possible to hide a plugin setting with that.

What we can suggest for now is to either collapse the Popup Controls setting (just click the arrow next to it) so it occupies less space, or post a request in Requests and Feedback | www.ads-software.com to allow the reordering of block controls in the default Gutenberg block editor.

    We appreciate your understanding. ??
