Favicon Missing when plugin active

  • When plugin is active, the Favicon on google chrome disappears. This reappears when plugin is deactivated. I’ve tried adjusting all plugin settings, including deleting and reuploading site icons.

    Is this a known issue and/or is there a known fix?

    @nztrinkets001 Thank you for reporting this. However, I’m not seeing this on two of my test sites.

    When I try loading the favicon.ico that WP generates when uploading the site icon, e.g. https://www.example.com/favicon.ico, it redirects to something like https://www.example.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/cropped-icon-256×256-1-32×32.png which is an actual icon.

    @nztrinkets001 can go to Tools >> Site Health and copy the WP environment info here? Maybe there’s a hidden clue there somewhere.

    I have the same issue, in more that 2-3 sites that I checked.

    When the maintenance screen is enabled i get that favicon.ico is missing and there is an error 503.

    If i disable the maintenance then it’s ok.

    I tried also to switch to a default theme and add a favicon to that. But it didn’t work

    @tanasi apologies for the belated response. This fell through the cracks. Thank you for reporting that. I’ll make sure that the site icon is being included in the maintenance page in the next release. Please test when you see it (next Monday).
