    Hello,

Plugin (free version) mostly works right out of the box. A couple of issues:

    • The icon next to the temperature quit working. Now it just shows the text “temperature icon.”
    • Visibility always says “0 mi” which can’t be right, given a clear sky.

I thought these two display items worked okay when I installed it, but now I see they do not.

    Your advice is welcome.

    Hi @commontater,

Thanks for contacting us. Hope you are doing great today!

We have investigated the issues and found the possible reason behind the issues. We have noted them and they will be fixed permanently in the next version of the plugin. In the meantime, we have developed a modified version for you including the fix. Download and activate the following plugin and hopefully, the issues will be fixed.

    Beta version: Download Here

Look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Have a nice day!

    Hi @pulak00 ,

I installed the Beta plugin on my staging site, and I see that one of the two issues is fixed.

    • Fixed: Visibility now shows an actual number (6 mi) instead of zero (0 mi).
    • Not fixed: This is the same as before. The icon beside the temperature is still missing. It says “temperature icon” instead. When I view the preview inside the plugin, the icon displays, but then it does not appear on the site.

Please take another look at the fix.

    Many thanks.

    Hi @commontater,

We have done further investigation and found that the issue only occurs due the lazyload feature of the SiteGround Optimizer. If you are using the SiteGround hosting and the optimization plugin, you can exclude the class ‘weather-icon’ from being lazyloaded.

Hope this information will help you. Look forward to hearing from you soon.

    Thank you.

    Hi @pulak00 ,

Your suggestion appears to have fixed the issue.

For other users trying to display the Temperature icon on the front end:

In Siteground’s plugin Speed Optimizer > Media, under Media Optimization, I have Lazy Load Media “ON.” Under Exclude CSS Classes from Lazy Load, I entered a new class, ‘weather-icon’.

Again, thanks for the patch you had sent directly to me, which addresses the “Visibility = 0 miles” issue.

When will your team release the patched version of Location Weather that includes the Visibility patch? When this is out, I will update on my live site.

    Thanks.

Note: Siteground Speed Optimizer/Media had a class named ‘skip-lazy’ already in use. I think this was pre-entered in Speed Optimizer. Perhaps Location Weather could use that class for the Temperature icon?

    Hi @commontater,

Thanks for the confirmation that it worked for you.

We are hopeful to release a new version of the plugin including the ‘visibility‘ fixes within the next couple of days. Updating the plugin will fix the issue permanently.

I will forward the request to the development team to collaborate with Siteground for the default class name.

Your understanding would be highly appreciated.

    Have a nice day!
