• I recently updated Elementor Pro on one of my websites, and the result was a broken Header (I am using the Theme Builder’s Custom Header Templates). The template was no longer visible and only the Site Title is shown in the header, ie. the default Hello Elementor header.

It’s unclear whether I now need to disable something in the Hello Elementor site settings, but now whenever I try to go into the Theme Builder’s header template, it gives me an error:

“Sorry the content area was not found in your page. You must call ‘the_content’ function in the current template, in order for Elementor to work on this page.”

I switched the theme to Twenty Twenty-Four and the Headers now work again.

I am working on an entirely new additional website right now as well, and the same thing is happening on a site with no content or plugins except for Elementor, Elementor Pro, and the Hello Elementor Theme. This seems to be some kind of bug with the theme.

Just figured this out. Apparently “the_content” function no longer existed in the theme after the most recent update, for whatever reason.

The simple fix is to switch to the default theme, delete Hello Elementor and redownload and install it. My guess was a faulty update, however, this happened on 3 different websites for me so I can’t imagine it was an isolated incident.

We have had the same issue with our agency websites. I just did a rollback of the theme and updated it manually and seemed to fix the issue. However, once another automatic update occurred, the issue came back. Is there something causing this issue to happen with the automatic updates Elementor?
