    Hello,

I am translating plugin to Lithuanian language which has multiple plural terms. So in pot file a string “event” or “events” is messing overall translation very badly.

    Hi @marcizus ,

Thank you for getting in touch!

I’d suggest trying out Loco Translate for your translation needs, as it’s quite straightforward and easy to use. You can check out the details here.

Additionally, you might find this extension for The Events Calendar useful. It allows you to customize the labels for “Events” and “Event” text.

    Hope this helps!

    Best regards,
    Marta

    Hello @iammarta ,

this doesn’t help at all. I know how to translate website. The problem that translation strings are separated into so many words that in the ended after translating it is not correct.

For example there is label: “View organizer website”. Every single word is a different string that should be translated and because you re-use “organizer” string it is incorrect when translated. Incorrect in Lithuanian language. https://prnt.sc/Fw_LHOapW7am

And there are so many more example likes that. What we need is a pot file where there a translation PHRASES and not single words. Especially containing “event”, “events”.

    Hi @marcizus

One of my colleagues recommended using Loco translate to search for the string that needs to be translated.

For example, you can refer to this screen recording to see how you can directly translate the text without using the placeholder (%s).

    Hello,

that is the workaround I already did. But it shouldn’t be like that. The problems is that for example string “Events” could be translated differently in Lithuanian depending on what words go next. So in template I think there is “Events” + string-1 and in other template “Events” + string-2 etc. So the problem is make “events” the same word everywhere while it should be phrase.
