Is it possible to configure the unregister function so that a user can unregister just by entering their email and clicking a single button, with no confirmation email necessary? I see that someone else asked this question 6-7 months ago, and you referred to another thread that I cannot find. Thanks.

    Hey williamlowe11,

I wonder if the thread was removed as I probably mentioned this is a feature in our paid Pro version among other features for logged in users.

I will say that we do intend to add this in the free version, as it’s a fairly handy feature, but it hasn’t been added quite yet!

    Hi Craig:

Thanks for your quick response; much appreciated.

I will look forward to seeing this feature in an upcoming version. Our small bike club is already over budget for plugins, so we’re not in a position to spring for the Pro version at this time. I fully understand that you can only do so much for non-paying clients and we were thrilled to find this Free version; it provides just the functionality we need.

That said, while we’re here I’ll mention my wish list for you to consider. My preference would be to have options to turn off ALL notifications: registration notifications to the site administrator (already available), confirmation messages to the registrant, and the little red circles that show up on the Dashboard and have to be cleared manually. One of the neat things about the Registration feature is that it is self-confirming: when a user signs up and the page is refreshed, they immediately see their name show up and any confirmation email is superfluous. Also, the extra email step in the Unregister process is (for our site at least) unnecessary since, again, a simple refresh of the page would show the user that their name has been removed. Everything can be accomplished with minimal effort for the user and no intervention or bother for the administrator.

By the way, there seems to be a bug in the Unregister process, at least using Microsoft Edge. When a user starts the Unregister process, receives an email, and clicks the Unregister link in the email, they are returned to a second instance of the event page with their name still showing and a No Record Found error message is displayed. Repeated refreshes of the page simply recreate the error. They have to close that page and either refresh the original instance of the page or return to the page via the event calendar. This is another reason why we would like to turn off the Unregister email confirmation step altogether.

    Thanks again for your time.

    Hey again William,

Thanks for the notes here. They make sense!

Both notifications and confirmations can be disabled using the related setting found on the “Email” settings page. Have you tried those yet? That might help your situation here.

As for the other notes I think we can address these in an update! And thanks for the heads up regarding Edge. I haven’t had anyone else mention this but I’ll see what might be going on there.
