• I thought I had found the best booking plugin after trying out several of other popular options. It seems great but the more you customize the settings to your needs, the more your realize how many issues or incomplete functions there are.

    For example, the stripe integration addon is horrible. It looks like the devs gave up and just put together something that kind of works. The payment popup looks very SHADY. Looks nothing like the official stripe payment page. It also cannot be dismissed so you’re stuck in the payment process once the popup is on screen.

    Zero-decimal currencies like JPY or KRW are multiplied by 100, so you end up charging huge amounts (100x) for services.

    Other issues:

    • staff holidays are not viewable on the calendar dashboard
    • no option to set partial refund within X days, but full refund outside this (must set a minimum fee that cannot be refunded if the partial refund feature is enabled)
    • custom duration settings don’t make sense. you cannot set price per unit for certain unit amounts (price per hour for 4 hour bookings, for example). instead you have to manually set different packages for each number of hours.
    • taxes and coupons amounts are not calculated properly

    And a bunch of other inconveniences. All in all a very disappointing experience and a waste of time for my clients.

    It’s very sad to know that you’re disappointed with the BookingPress. I’ve checked all the points you have mentioned and it seems that they are related to the premium version of the BookingPress.

    Your review is acceptable at www.ads-software.com but for technical help regarding the premium version, we already have a dedicated support team for the paid version, I would highly recommend you open a support ticket there and our team will assist you in resolving your concerns as soon as possible. However, you have raised the issue publicly, let me assist you with basic information.

    Regarding Stripe popup close button, it’s prevented by Stripe itself. And everything is accordingly to Stripe standard and if you still not happy, please give your suggestion to our idea board.

    Regarding currency issue, it’s already been fixed and update will be coming out soon.

    Regarding staff holidays displays in calendar, please give your suggestion to our idea board.

    Regarding custom duration, to set price per unit is already there, so please contact us from our official support for more assistance.

    Regarding taxes and coupons, everything is working fine. so please contact us from our official support for more assistance.

    Thank you for responding. I did get help for some technical issues but most of the features I asked about I was told to request a feature, as you also say. There’s too many poorly implemented or incomplete functions, even for functions not related to the premium version.

    I am not looking to do your dev work by listing every single bug or feature improvement. Keep up your work and maybe in 2-3 years time the quality of the plugin will improve. For now I will move on to a different plugin that suits my needs better. In its current state, I find your (premium) plugin unusable for clients that demand a great quality booking system.

    If you are asking about feature then and if it is not there then best way to get it is sharing your thought so that if more people are interested then we can add that feature on priority basis.

    And that is the reason BookingPress is been loved by couple of thousand people as it is built through request of lots of users.

    But, unfortunately you are not one of those happy users, I highly appreciate that you shared your problems.

    We genuinely encourage you to share your other issues too if you have, i am not asking you to do the developer job or work of a tester. But if you share your past experienced issues in details then we get to know if its bug then it will be solved immediately and you are doing favor to other users too. And if it is not bug then we get chance to explain and clear confusion so if anybody else read this then they get some help.
