Hi, I have a free plan, and the service says I am over quota. The problem is that when I check the number of unique IP adresses on my provider’x dashboard, it doesn’t match the number of visitors shown on Optimole’s dashboard… by far!

It looks like there is something wrong in the way the number of visitors is counted for my site.

    Hi @tdebaillon,

We have detailed here how we count the visits: How Optimole counts the number of visits

We count as one visit the unique combination of IP+User Agent during 24h, excluding known bots. You can cross-check that data by comparing it with the access logs from your server.

    I hope this helps.

    Best regards,

    Hi Andrea,

I know the way Optimole counts. I don’t have data concerning User Agents, but fact is that during 08/24, Optimole counted 477 visitors, while the total number of requests on this very same day was… 478.

Typical pages on my site match between 70 and 120 requests, analytics say 4 pages were visited on this day. If I do the maths, this makes a minimum of 280 requests for the regular visits. Maximum of “visitors” (Optimole definition) cannot be superior to 478-280+4 = 202, NOT 477.

    Hi @tdebaillon,

We were unable to view the attached screenshot, so we’re unable to comment on the specific data. However, upon reviewing your account stats, it appears that you had significant spikes in visits on two days: 208 visits on July 31st and 477 visits on August 25th. The combined total from smaller daily visits and these two dates does exceed 1,000 visitors.

While we allow users to occasionally exceed their visitor quota by a small margin, the high number of visits on those days is not within the allowable range. Your visitor quota is set to reset on August 30th, so you should be fine moving forward, as the quota will refresh tomorrow.

I hope this information helps. Thank you!
