I would prefer not to use a start point, but understand that it is required. However, is it possible to at least remove the start point when a user clicks the Get Directions link? I am linking out to google maps instead of showing the directions directly on the page. When it clicks to google maps, it’s already pre-populated with the start point address, which requires the user to erase it so they can enter their own starting address. Is there a way to modify the Google Maps direction link so it does not include the start point?

    Thank you.

  • Hi there, thank you for writing.

The plugin is all based around the idea that you have a start point from where you initiate a search, and you are shown the stores that fall within certain radius from that specific start point, so it is kind of an important thing for the internal use.

You can hide it, though, if you don’t like to see it, but it will still be there.

In any case, the start point is always going to be sent to the directions window/tab and it is going to be whatever point it was in the map. So, if the users are allowing the browser to track their location, it will normally be pretty accurate from where they actually are. But as for your enquiry.. no, it cannot be removed when opening the directions link, sorry about that.

    Best regards,
