new post admin screen, more than 2 columns

  • the dashboard can have up to 4 columns for widgets / dialogues etc

    but the new post page is limited to 2
    (ie, /wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=article )

    is there any way to increase this? i have a lot of custom post types where the focus is more on taxonomies and custom fields than writing content.
    4 columns would be great
