I am trying to connect Google Site Kit from last three days. My site is hosted on shared hosting on Arvixe. Support team of Arvixe is also trying there best to resolve the issue. They tested the cURL with IPv6, IPv4, checked with whitelisting and all settings seems fine from there end. As per Google Link, downloaded The Mini plugin which allows Site Kit setup over IPv4 instead of IPv6 but still no luck. Can somebody guide me how can I resolve this error please. Error is showing “

Thanks for reaching out @lgsankhe. Based on the error you’re encountering, it sounds like your encountering a block between your site and the services Site Kit connects to. To troubleshoot this further, please share the following:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.??
    2. Do you see any warnings or errors when checking your Site Health status? (Tools > Site Health > Status), which differs from your Site Health information requested above? Such errors may include REST endpoint references.
    3. Does the same occur if you attempt Site Kit setup and view the dashboard from this disposable WordPress site? This will help indicate a possible host related issue if all works fine from here.?

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

    Hello James,

Thanks for your quick reply. I shared the Site Health Information privately.

Please check the Site Health Status on https://imgur.com/AlCRtOc

I tried with disposable WordPress site and it worked fine.

If you need any other information then please let me know.

    Thanks & Regards,

Thanks for sharing the additional information @lgsankhe. Given there are no issues with the disposable WordPress site, it does look hosting related. Do you have any other sites on the same hosting platform from where you can check Site Kit setup with?

Another option to help indicate a hosting related issue, is to perform the steps below:

    1. Login to your live site from a Chrome browser incognito window.
    2. Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
    3. Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
    4. From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google“.
    5. Attempt to set up Site Kit once more.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

    Hello James,

Tried the steps mentioned for Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.

Getting same error in troubleshooting mode too. Is there anything specific which I can mention to hosting support?

Thanks for the update @lgsankhe. If you visit your Permalink settings (Settings > Permalinks) and press the save changes button does the same occur if you visit your Site Kit dashboard once more and reload the page? You don’t need to make any permalinks changes. This will refresh your .htaccess file, which can sometimes be corrupt. This may be of use as I can see a htaccess_extra_rules: true rule when checking your Site Health information.

Getting same error in troubleshooting mode too. Is there anything specific which I can mention to hosting support?

There are a few host specific checks you may be able to perform. These include the following:”

    1. Checking whether the same occurs if you attempt Site Kit setup from another site on the same hosting platform.
    2. Temporarily deactivating any Web Application Firewall or similar feature at host level.
    3. Perform some cURL checks to see if your site can communicate with the Site Kit service directly (sitekit.withgoogle.com). This could be done via SSH or your hosting provider can assist.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

I’m just following up with you to check whether the error remains? If so please share the information requested above and we can investigate further.
