Adding Text To Top of Blog PostsPage

    Hi, I want to add some text before my blog posts shows. If I change the WordPress settings so this is not regarded by WP as my Blog Posts Page, then I see the text I added. But the moment I set it to be the Blog Posts Page again, all my text that I want to precede the Blog Posts list vanishes again.

    Before I added the text, the page (Blog) was blank.

    How can I get it so that I can add some introductory stuff before the blog posts are listed. Massive thanks.

  • Hi there,

    Unfortunately this is not possible by default in WordPress, as that’s how WordPress itself handles the blog page. It’s a special page, used to display just the blog posts, no other content can be displayed there.

    This is not related to the theme you are using, is the default behaviour in all of them.

    If you want to obtain something similar, you can try creating a separate page, which you don’t select it to be the Blog page, and on that page, you add a block that displays the latest posts, for example https://docs.themeisle.com/article/1530-posts-block from Otter Blocks plugin.

    Yes, that’s one possible solution. There are other possible solutions as well, that would involve some custom work on your side.
