• Hello,

I have facing the issue that I unable to delete the folder. After I right click and select to delete the folder, but there’s showing [The folder, home, is not empty. Please delete or move files from the folder]. Even though I already delete the files from the folder, and I check is empty file, but still can’t delete the folder

  • I suppose you checked that the folder is empty by looking in the tree from MLF. Could you check with FTP connection if it is really empty. If so then sync the folder with MLF. Then try again to delete the folder. If that does not work, use the reset program to reset the database (not deleting). Then start MLF and check again

I have check file manager it is really empty files/folder. So ow to reset the database?

please look in the documentation how to use the reset addon. You need to deactivate MLF, then activate the reset addin, and follow instructions given in the documentation

In this case, a reset is not needed. Via FTP or your site’s file manager, delete the folder. In some cases the folder could contain hidden files, and this action will delete them also. Once the folder has been removed from the server, you can go back to Media Library Folders and delete the folder from the folder tree and this removes it from the database.

Alan are these files put by MLF into this folder? In that case MLF nows the names and should remove them prior to deleting the folder. If they are not placed by MLF, then I wonder how they arrived within a MLF folder (supposing the folder is created by MLF)

    Peter,

When the function for deleting folder fails, it returns a false and that usually means the folder is not empty. If we cannot see any files in the folder; they must be a hidden. I have already added code to scan the folder and delete files if the database shows that the number of files in the database is zero. This helps in some cases, but not every time. This started happening once we started using PHP versions 7 and 8.

    Hi Alan,

Thanks, I did not see that happening yet. But I am wondering where those hidden files come from. Does that have something to do with the new functionality added, to hide images within MLF tree?

No, this is not caused by the plugin.
