    Hello,

Since I updated the Google Analytics for WooCommerce plugin to the latest version, I have noticed that some eCommerce events in Google Analytics 4 (GA4) are no longer being tracked properly. The events that have stopped registering or have decreased in frequency are the following:

    • view_item_list
    • add_to_cart
    • purchase
    • view_item

Previously, these events were being tracked without issues, but now the data capture is inconsistent or not being recorded at all.

Is there any setting or configuration I should check after the update? I would appreciate any suggestions or solutions to resolve this issue.

Thank you in advance for your help.

    Best regards,
    Víctor Martínez

  • Hey there, @victortorneiros! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

Can you please confirm if you have update the user consent policy after Googles Consent Mode Update?

Google introduced Consent Mode in March 2024 to comply with privacy laws in the EEA/UK region. This means website visitors from these regions must now explicitly grant consent for cookies before any analytics tracking occurs.

Without consent, Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Ads won’t capture user data in these locations. The extension does not provide any UI, like a cookie banner, to let your visitors grant consent for tracking. However, it’s integrated with WP Consent API, so you can pick another extension that provides a user interface that meets your needs.

Due to this new requirement, you may notice a discrepancy between your store and Google Analytics/Ads data, as users must grant consent for analytics data to be captured on Google’s platforms.

If you did, can you please confirm for us the Google Analytics version on your website and the WooCommerce version?

Also please share the Fatal error logs and Google error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs. Then you can use the selector to search for Fatal Errors and Google errors.
You could copy and paste your reply here or paste it via https://gist.github.com/ and send the link here.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!
