• I migrated 200+ blog posts from Squarespace to WordPress about a year ago. They migrated in fine, but with my entire site changing, I knew there would be dead links in some, etc, and I’d clean it all up eventually.

Well, I’m trying to edit those blog posts and it’s a flaming nightmare. They are using the classic editor, so I got a plugin to convert to block editor. The posts are opening in custom HTML blocks, see attached. I can’t edit text, photos, anything because they’re all buried in HTML, not showing up as typical blocks.

    1. Is this a common occurrence with migration from Squarespace?
    2. Is the only way to have migrated posts this way, HTML blocks only?
    3. How can I salvage these blog posts? I can keep the image blocks at bare minimum, but desperately need to be able to edit text in them.

I can provide more screenshots and documentation if needed. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Depending on the amount of extra code that might be leftover from the squarespace posts, it may be somewhat of a manual process to clean up the pages, posts etc.

Migrating from a plaform that adds extra code can be messy…I am working on a client site now to remove leftover formatting from a deactivated page builder plugin and a similar situation is happening.
