Instructions I’ve read for linking a WordPress website to QUIC.cloud say that in the WordPress General Settings the site url must include ‘www.’ before linking. Does that mean that WordPress with QUIC can’t be configured using the root domain address, ie without www. in the url?

You can link the site to QC even if the site is non www.
As long as your root domain will allow to create CNAMES

The domain DNS is on GoDaddy with an A-record pointing to cPanel. However I read here that cPanel won’t support CNAME flattening until v122 (current version is 120).

From what I can see the changes can be done
