    Hi Support Team,

I have Solid Security Basic installed on one of my client’s WordPress sites, and file change scanning is enabled. I have excluded the following files and folders from the scan:

    • /wp-content/plugins
    • /wp-content/themes
    • /wp-content/advanced-cache.php
    • /wp-content/object-cache.php
    • /wp-content/cache
    • /wp-content/uploads

Despite these exclusions, I received an email notification this morning regarding three file changes with the following details:

    File Change Details:

    • Type: Warning
    • Description: 0 Added, 0 Removed, 3 Changed
    • Timestamp: 2024-09-12 12:10:36
    • User: WP-Cron Scheduled Task

    Changed Files:

    • wp-content/uploads/really-simple-ssl/843fc05dc3500141df72c4cd3ed0a89b/core.json
    • wp-content/uploads/really-simple-ssl/843fc05dc3500141df72c4cd3ed0a89b/components.json
    • wp-content/uploads/really-simple-ssl/843fc05dc3500141df72c4cd3ed0a89b/manifest.json

It seems that these files under /wp-content/uploads/really-simple-ssl were flagged, despite the uploads folder being excluded. Could you help clarify why these files were detected and how I can prevent this from happening in the future?

    Thanks for your assistance!

Hi @peabodydigital, glad you reached out!

To clarify, it’s not possible to exclude wp-content/uploads directly, which explains why the file changes within that folder was still detected.

You may exclude directories inside of wp-content/uploads like wp-content/uploads/2023 or by adding the JSON media file type inside the “IGNORE FILE TYPES” section.

    I hope this helps!
