Wordfence found a file “Not included in this version of WordPress…” and allowed me to delete it. But it also included the message “249 more files were found” but did not offer me a way to delete them. Are they a problem, how can I find them, and should I delete them?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hi @rvh, thanks for getting in touch!

The “249 more files were found” sounds like IONOS’ click & build WordPress installation that causes php.ini files to be created in every WordPress core folder. They were being highlighted individually in previous versions of Wordfence as the core WordPress folders should?usually?be left unchanged. However it was unhelpful to suggest deletion as the host always recreates them so the result is now grouped together.

Let me know if that’s not the case or you see evidence of it being related to other types of file.

    Thanks,
    Peter.
