Hello, on staging website I’ve updated an old version of event calendar to the newest one by also doing the migration. All seems good but I can’t insert the widget which display next events in the sidebar. I mean I inserted it but it doesn’t show in front-end. I’ve tried also the short code in the widget and in a page but it doesn’t display anything. I’ve made a conflict test but I didn’t find the problem.

    May you help me?

    Hi @alicejdt ,

Could you please provide more information about the widget that you’re referring to here? I ask, as some widgets and the ability to use shortcodes is a feature that ships with the Events Calendar Pro premium add-on plugin.

Hello it is the widget which displays next events, I contacted by mistake the premium support. They sent me here, they said: “Events List widget is included in our free plugin as well.”

    Hi @alicejdt

Could you provide a screenshot of how you add the widget from your wp-admin dashboard please? I want to check it further on my end.

Also, if you haven’t tried it yet, please check for possible plugin/theme conflict on your side.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Hi @alicejdt ,

    Thank you for your message.

Have you tried enabling WordPress debugging (see How to Enable Debugging in WordPress) to see if anything is thrown out to the debug log that would help provide context into the situation?

    Hi @tristan083

in the error log there are no errors about the plugin. There are some about the template and another plugin but we can’t update them for now, and since I’ve made a conflict test by disabling everything and the widget doesn’t show anyway I don’t think the problem is there.

    Hi @alicejdt

I attempted to replicate the issue you’re experiencing on my test site by activating The Events Calendar plugin alongside WordPress’s 2021 theme. Everything appears to be functioning properly in that environment. This leads me to believe that the problem may be linked to the theme you’re currently using.

Could you please confirm whether your theme is a premium one? If it isn’t, I would appreciate it if you could share the URL where I can download it. This will allow me to investigate the matter further and identify the cause of the issue.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Hi @tristan083

I’m sorry I’ve searched for it and it is paid download, I think it was free when we installed it. But I disabled it and activated a wordpress one making conflict test and nothing showed. It would not be possible to give you access to staging site to take a look? Wouldn’t it be easier? But I can’t post data access public here ??

    Hi @alicejdt

I understand. However, I’m afraid that sharing login information in this thread is against the WP guidelines.

Is it possible if you could create a screen recording that demonstrates the steps to replicate the issue you’re experiencing? This will help me investigate the matter more thoroughly. Thank you!
