I’m trying to build a full-width site, using the Twenty Twenty-Two theme, but it’s not easy. I’m made progress with help and CSS code from some of the experts in this forum (thank you!), but it’s still a tough battle.

Technically, this site is a blog —?some posts, a few static pages, integration with a CRM. No ecommerce or anything else. Naturally, I’d like it to be fast and responsive.

Is there a better way to build a full-width site? Should I use a different theme? Should I use a page builder plugin?

I’d very much appreciate the advice.

    Thank you!

Hey Akubrin, I came across a site similar to your requirments a few days ago. Look at this full-width mobile racing game blog of the Traffic Rider app. The theme used in this looks like Kadence, but overall, it gives an appealing look; you can reach out to the owner, and they might help you create one for you according to the requirements.

If building a full-width site with the Twenty Twenty-Two theme feels tricky, you might want to explore more flexible, full-width-friendly themes like Kadence or GeneratePress. They’re lightweight, responsive, and great for custom layouts. You could also use a page builder like Elementor for easier design control, but be mindful of speed.

If you stick with Twenty Twenty-Two, try using Full Site Editing (FSE) and tweaking block settings, but some CSS might still be needed. For speed, optimize images and use a caching plugin like WP Rocket.

Check out my own site, costcofoodcourtmenu.com, for inspiration!

    Hi @richardcharles051,

Thanks for this information. I did end up going with Elementor (although I’m moving away from the full width design now).

I’m pretty impressed with Elementor. There’s a bit of a learning curve, but I’m catching on.

I’ll keep an eye out for speed issues. Thanks for that tip.

    Cheers,
