    Just in the design and testing stages but this plugin is exactly what I need, just isn’t working.

    I have a digital download storefront I am migrating from my current Joomla deployment to WordPress.

    What I need to achieve is when a user purchases a product (be it a simple product or a variable product option) I wish to replace the “Add to Cart” button with a download button so the logged in user can simply download their product from any product page they own, and not accidentally repurchase.

    This appears to almost do the trick but here are the issues I have currently:

    • For a simple product if the user owns it the download button is displayed as expected however clicking it is still “adding to cart” and not triggering a download
    • If a user owns a variable product such as multiple options to select from for a single product, this is not being updated to show the Download button
    • If I use a product shortcode to display a products “add to cart” on another page, the download button is correctly shown but clicking it does nothing.

    I am using Ajax to auto update the cart.

    Hoping to be able to solve these issues as this is the perfect plugin for what I will need

    So I have managed to half address the issue where download buttons are going to the cart instead. If I enable the option in Settings > General > “Always open download links in a new window” this is now allowing download of the file and bypassing the cart when clicking form an archive list however, when I view the product page there simply is no download or cart button, it is missing completely. If I disable the option to download from product page the add to cart button comes back.

    I also still need to figure out if variable products can work. Feel like this is close but still far from working for me ??

    Further progress, I now see I need to add the shortcode [download_now_page] to the product page template so this is now displaying the replacement download button. Just need to find out a way if it is possible to allow download of variable products

    Hi @jestermgee

    Variations aren’t supported in the free version I’m afraid. You would need to upgrade to the Pro version where this is supported
