Can’t delete Widgets

    I installed the Neve theme on a newly created site and I can’t delete the Search and Meta widgets inside the Sidebar and not even the Text widget in Footer 1.

    I tried:
    – Deactivate all plugins
    – Change theme: I can delete the widgets! So the problem is the Neve theme
    – Enable accessible mode
    – With Gutemberg editor
    – Without Gutemberg (deactivated by the child theme via code)
    – Delete the widgets from the serialized array inside the wp_options table inside the “sidebar_widget” option
    – Enable debugging (see below)

    The debugging detected me, only once actually, this error:
    PHP ??Warning: Undefined array key 1 in /web/htdocs/…/wp-includes/rest-api/endpoints/class-wp-rest-widgets-controller.php on line 711

    It’s as if the theme, programmatically, was continuously creating those widgets.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi,

    Thank you for writing this!
    I’m not able to recreate this. I’m able to successfully remove all widgets and leave all the Widgets areas empty https://vertis.d.pr/i/5l2Ky3

    Unfortunately, I’m not sure how to help in this case. Maybe some other user can help.

    Unfortunally I didn’t discover the cause of the problem.

    So I have reinstalled EVERYTHING and now is working correctly. It was really weird!
