Hi there, sorry this must be a silly question but I can’t find the Easy Table of Contents settings on the screen where you edit a post… The settings used to appear in a tab below but I can’t find them anymore.

We were trying to set specific settings for an specific post, thanks

I’m not using that plugin; however, settings for plugins are typically not found where you edit a post. They’re separate, either by clicking on the plugin and clicking settings there OR somewhere else in the navigation.

    According to Perplexity AI:

“To access the settings for the Easy Table of Contents plugin in WordPress:

    1. Navigate to Settings > Table of Contents in your WordPress admin dashboard13.
    2. You’ll find several settings tabs and options to configure the plugin, including:
      • Enable Support: Check the option for “Posts” to enable the table of contents for blog posts1.
      • Processing Headings: Ensure the box for “Post” is checked1.
      • General settings: Control how and where tables of contents appear on your site4.
      • Appearance settings: Configure the look and style of the table of contents4.
      • Advanced settings: Additional configuration options4.
    3. After making changes, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “Save changes” button to apply your settings1.
    4. For individual posts, you can also find a “Table of Contents” panel at the bottom of the post editor, where you can check the box to “Insert table of contents” for that specific post1.

Remember to review and adjust these settings according to your preferences for how you want the table of contents to appear and function on your WordPress site.”

I’m sharing this so you can try it and by then perhaps the plugin coders will be around to answer if this doesn’t work.

    Hi @manuxx34 ,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Once you activate the Easy TOC plugin, there’s no need to make additional edits in the post. Simply add your headings, save, and check—you should see the Table of Contents on your end.

Easy TOC also supports a shortcode method if you’d like to place the Table of Contents in a specific position by adding [ez-toc] on shortcode box. You can then go to the plugin settings to explore various options to customize your TOC. Give this a try, and let us know if you need any help.

@growmap : Thank you for sharing this. ??
