I connected my site to google adsense. Once the site was established on Google Adsense I tried to request verification, but it keeps saying Couldn’t verify your site.

I inspected the WordPress site page and looked for the SiteKit code. The metatag generated by SiteKit and placed on my pages does not match the AdSense metatag.

    Google adsense shows: <meta name=”google-adsense-account” content=”ca-pub-3251123012406224“>

    My site pages shows: ca-host-pub-2644536267352236

I tried disconnecting the site and reconnecting. That didn’t help.

Thanks for reaching out @wzain99. When you connect the AdSense module within Site Kit, it will place both your own AdSense publisher tag (with a ca-pub prefix) and also the Site Kit AdSense for platforms publisher tag (with a ca-host-pub prefix), which is the one you’re referring to. This isn’t a standard AdSense publisher ID, and it just let’s the AdSense service know that it was Site Kit that was used to place your own AdSense snippet on your site.

If you’re finding that your own AdSense publisher tag is not being placed, and only the Site Kit AdSense for platforms publisher ID tag is placed, there can be a couple of reasons, including the toggle to place the snippet being disabled. If you’d like to share your Site Health information I can check this further.

You’ll also find more on the expected snippets that Site Kit does place when the AdSense module is connected by visiting the related guide on the plugin website. Thank you!

James, thanks for your response and the information you shared. I think my issue was a temporary delay in the process. When I checked Google Adsense today, the site is now under review.

I will give Google a few days and then update this ticket.

Excellent, glad to hear it @wzain99. Hopefully you’re site will be approved for ads. While we can’t speed up the proceed, certainly reach out if you have any further queries.

I’ll go ahead and close this support topic given the snippet is placed as expected @wzain99, however, feel free to open a new support topic if you have any other queries, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist.
