• I’m beating my head against my desk trying to work out a way of combining the Sliding Doors imageMenu navigation with the Twenty Ten theme – or adding the Twenty Ten footer widgets to Sliding Doors.

Is there a way to do this?

(of course, the theme i end up with if this can be done will have all the appropriate credits for everyone who created the original themes)

  • I think the easier way to do this would be to add the twenty ten footer widgets to sliding doors.
I haven’t dived down into the code, but at first glance you will need to 1)replace the footer.php and 2)add footer-sidebar.php.
Then add the code that registers the footer widgets from functions.php (areas 3 through 6)
Then make the needed changes to style.css to make it all look nice.

The smart way to do this would be to create a child theme of sliding doors and add your twenty ten code there.

    hey builtbynorthby,

just wanted to say thank you again – have just finished rebuilding the php side of things and, though its far from complete how i want it, i seem to have the sliding doors imagemenu and the sidebar/footer widgets i need!

top advice, so thanks once more ??

    You’re welcome.
