• Thank you for your work on this plug-in. I’ve run into an issue that I’m not sure how to troubleshoot. We’re using the plugin to allow judges to evaluate auditions where they can compare the submitted recordings directly against each other. We have many recordings on the page (200+), but the plug-in crashes after 5+ of the recordings are played. It’s been a problem every year, but seems to be worse this year.

I know this isn’t enough info to help, and we’re currently in the adjudication process, so I can’t share the actual page right now, but any ideas how to start troubleshooting?

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We’re using the plugin to allow judges to evaluate auditions where they can compare the submitted recordings directly against each other.

Are you trying to play two audios at the same time? Or are you playing one audio then stopping that audio and then playing a different audio? We also have the following option:

Go to the settings menu of this plugin and check the “Disable Simultaneous Play” option to turn off simultaneous audio file playback option. When this option is used, it will automatically stop the audio file that is currently playing when the visitor plays a new file.

Also can you share the URL here with the audio files.

Let me know if the information above helps you in any way.

    Kind regards.

Thank you. I can’t share the live site right now. It’s behind a login and we’re actively judging submissions right now.

However. Turning OFF “Disable Simultaneous Play” seems to have solved the problem. Still testing.

We only want one playing at a time, so having that enabled would be nice, but the page is crashing after 8 or so plays when it’s on.

?but the page is crashing after 8 or so plays when it’s on.

Do you currently have a cache plugin running in your site? Does your server run any caching system? Can you also confirm with your host if you are running out of resources, “Ram Memory”? This can be found out via the log files in your server.

    Kind regards.

No cache plugin or on server. Resources not being exceeded.

My host support suspected that the PHP memory limit was causing the problem. He increased it and it seems to have helped. (the page still crashed, but it took much longer). I increased it more. Hopefully that’ll solve the problem.

    Thank you for your help.
