• Hello,

I’m having problems receiving requests made from the form on my site when they are received on an email address other than hotmail. Generally it’s when I put an address in @domain name that the reception doesn’t work. However, when I set a hotmail address as the recipient, it works. Why does this happen?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi alexisfontana74,

Thank you for reaching out to us. It sounds like you’re experiencing an issue with your webmail, as the form submissions are successfully received when using a Hotmail address but not with your domain email address. This usually indicates that your email server might not be configured correctly.

To help resolve this, please check your SMTP settings by using the WP Mail SMTP plugin. This plugin can help ensure that emails are correctly authenticated and delivered.

Let us know if you need further assistance with this process. We’re here to help!

    Regards.

    Good evening,

    Thank you for your feedback.

I have installed WP Mail SMTP on the 2 sites that are experiencing this problem.

The sites are hosted by o2switch.
One has its domain name hosted at o2switch.
    The other with OVH.

For these 2 sites, in SMTP host, I’ve entered the o2switch outgoing server, the email address and password for a mailbox created in cPanel, but the tool returns a 500 or 404 error.

What is the correct configuration? I’ve read the WP Mail SMTP instructions, to no avail.

Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hi,

For configuring WP Mail SMTP with o2switch, use the following settings:

    • SMTP Host: Typically mail.yourdomain.com or mail.o2switch.net
    • Port: 465 for SSL or 587 for TLS
    • Encryption: Choose SSL or TLS
    • Authentication: Enable and use your full email address and password created in cPanel

Ensure the “From Email” matches the authenticated email address. If one domain is hosted at OVH, verify that MX and DNS records are correctly set to o2switch mail servers.

If the issue persists, check your credentials, ensure the mailbox is active, and verify with o2switch support for further assistance.

    Best regards,
    Ikbal

    Good evening,

    Thank you for your feedback.

For one site, I managed to get the test to work and receive the request by e-mail. For the second site, I still have the problem, so I’ve just contacted the host.

    Best regards,
