    https://www.hilarycarlile.co.nz 5 years ago I built with Tesseract theme but now broken so have to rebuild on staging. https://www.staging3.hilarycarlile.co.nz
    So on this staging, I now have a new problem gap under header row.
    I have changed theme to Astra. I have kept the Site Origin content editor as it was compatible with Astra. everything has the latest versions.
    As I was Customising the header builder, Appearance>>Customise – I accidentally found a wide gap appeared between the top header menu row, and Smart Slider beneath, but cannot remove it, nor can I remember what I was doing at the time to create the error. Thus I am asking for help.

    So was in header builder to try to remove the paddings or margins, but nothing works. Also tried to edit margins in the siteorigin page builder row where I have inserted the smart slider shortcode. (for home page). That did no good. I even resized my slider to 1920 x 600px and checked all the slider settings again.
    I also did a search on google for solutions and it said to add some custom css, which I did, but it didnt work. Dont think I have the correct css to put in my additional custom css area.

    #header-builder {
    margin-bottom; 0px;
    }

    Any suggestions will be gratefully received. I can give someone the login if that is easier.

    I found the solution myself and am posting it here:
    Go to customise >>header builder>> Design>> Unlink Margin values, and put minus the exact gap in pixels for bottom margin only, so it closes the gap. Before, I had not known to unlink the values, so editing in there, automatically put the same pixel values into all margins, top, bottom left and right, which totally corrupted the margins.
    you can close this question. thanks
