• Current 2.9.3 version does NOT work with paypal on apple IOS version 12.5 or later versions. The smart buttons do not show at all and only the ‘proceed to paypal’ button shows.

If you click on that it gives the following error:

woocommerce paypal failed to process payment [INVALID_REQUEST] request is not well-formed, syntactically incorrect, or violets schema. https://developer.paypal.com/docs/api/orders/v2/#error-INVALID_PARAMETER_SYNTAX

The paypal credentials are correct. there is NO issue OR conflict with the theme being used OR plugins as when you revert to version 2.9.2 of the plugin the ‘proceed to payal’ button works (takes you to paypal site) without an error so at least customers can make payments HOWEVER the smart buttons still do not show as they should…

We know IOS12 is old now BUT its not that old for paypal smart buttons to stop displaying OR proceed to paypal not working.

    Hi @umbrellaweb ,

Thank you for reaching out to us we are here to help.

iOS 12 may be considered older (released in 2018), but it’s still within a reasonable window of compatibility for many modern web applications, including PayPal Smart Buttons. However, the browser (Safari) on that version of iOS may be outdated, which could affect JavaScript functionality, especially with complex payment systems like PayPal Smart Buttons.

Unfortunately, there’s limited action we can take if the buttons are not functioning on older versions of Safari, as it has known compatibility issues with certain features. However, the buttons should work as expected on more up-to-date browsers like Chrome or Firefox (although Apple Pay will not be available on those browsers).

Let us know if you have further questions, we would be glad to answer.

    Best Regards,
    Jamie
