  • Hi @jiahao0320

504 error is possibly a server-related issue. I would suggest asking your host why the 504 is occurring.

Your error_log file may also explain it. So please check the error logs on your server. If you need help locating them, ask your hosting provider to help you with that.

You could also try using the The Health Check and Troubleshooting plugin https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/ It is a valuable tool created by the www.ads-software.com community to diagnose and fix common issues.

    Hi @west7

Thank you for helping me out.

I tried health-check plugin, it says I have 3 critical issues. I attached it blow. I think the issue caused by ‘The REST API encountered an error. (Performance) ‘ Do you have any solution to solve this?

    3?critical issues

Critical issues are items that may have a high impact on your sites performance or security, and resolving these issues should be prioritized.

The REST API encountered an error. (Performance)

None of those “errors” will cause a 504 error in the front end… did you try disabling all plugins?

    Hi @mairag

Yes, I tried. I renamed ‘plugins’ to ‘plugins_hold’ in the server. It is not working. I can get into my wp-admin page. I only get 504 error for all web pages

It sounds like a server issue. A 504 error often indicates a timeout between your server and upstream services. Try increasing PHP max execution time in your server settings or contact your hosting provider to check if they’re experiencing high server load or connectivity issues. Also, clear cache if possible—this sometimes resolves it.

    Update:

Restarted PHP-fpm, and it is working now. Anyone knows the root cause of this issue?
