• Hi,
On the product page of my webshop, images are not loading. When I search for products, I can see the image in the search results, but when I open the product page, the image is not visible. This doesn’t happen with all products, but it occurs with many. An example of this can be seen on the page:

https://www.sedora.nl/koelkast-onderdelen/ – the second product on this page, “FLESSENREK KOELKAST,” shows the product image.

However, on the product page for this item:

https://www.sedora.nl/product/d991772-flessenrek-koelkast/?inprod=1, the image is no longer visible.

How can I resolve this issue?

    Hi @dijkmana ,

I see you’re having trouble with product images not showing up where they should. That can be confusing for sure. Do you recall when you first noticed this issue? Was it after a theme or plugin update?

To move forward, could you check if the image files for those products are uploaded correctly. Next, I noticed that when visiting your site, I got a “connection timed out” error, while having no issues connecting with other sites (screenshot: https://snipboard.io/SGvsfE.jpg). This could point to a hosting issue. It usually means the server is taking too long to respond, which might be due to heavy traffic, not enough server resources, or a configuration problem on the server.

It would be a good idea to reach out to your hosting provider to check the server status and see if there are any known issues affecting performance.

If the issue continues after checking with your host, I may recommend a conflict test to rule out any plugin or theme conflicts. Please keep us posted on your progress.

    Thank you for your response.

I’m not exactly sure when the issue first started, but it seems like it began with just a few images and has gradually spread to more. As for the “connection timed out” error, I haven’t encountered it myself, so I’m not sure why that’s happening.

I’ll go ahead and check for any conflicts as you suggested and will keep you updated if I find anything.

    Hi @dijkmana ,

I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’re facing. I noticed that the images on your site are not displaying properly, even though they appear when searching for the product.

It seems the images might have been converted to the WebP format. Have you used any caching or image optimization plugins in the past to compress the images?

Upon checking the image source URLs in the Browser console, they return a 404 error, indicating that the images are not found on your server.

Additionally, I see from your SSR data that the WP Rocket plugin is currently deactivated. There’s a possibility that WP Rocket was responsible for compressing your images, and upon deactivation, the image paths may have been lost. Could you try reactivating WP Rocket and check if this resolves the issue?

Please let us know how it goes!

    Hi,thank you for your response.

I did indeed use an image optimization plugin called “Smush” as well as WP Rocket. However, these plugins caused more issues on my site than they resolved, so I decided to remove them completely.

Currently, I am testing a staging site where I have reinstalled Elementor and WooCommerce, and the products have been re-added. So far, the issues seem to be resolved on this site, but I want to monitor it for a few more days to ensure the problems don’t reoccur.

    Hi there!

It sounds like you’re on the right track by testing the staging site with Elementor and WooCommerce reinstalled. Monitoring the site for a few more days is a great approach to ensure the issues don’t resurface.

If you encounter the issue again, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We’ll be happy to investigate further and help resolve it as quickly as possible.
