AWS Lightsail Migration
-
Hi Everyone,
Currently my site is hosted on an AWS Lightsail instance that has bee giving me some trouble for quite some time. For whatever reason Apache seems to crash or go offline, taking the site with it. I’ve done everything I can think of to track down what’s causing it but unfortunately I’m unable to find any trace in any logs. Part if trying to find a solution was scanning for malware and I took the opportunity to I’ve decided on Wordfence for a handful of reason. So I’m looking to migrate AWS Lightsail instances not only to one with more resources but also one that’s essentially a fresh install. The only things I’m really taking from the current one are my posts and pages and things like that. I’m setting up all of my plugins and things from scratch and cutting what I don’t need.
So my question is, what is the best way to go about migrating Wordfence? I read the document here https://www.wordfence.com/help/advanced/remove-or-reset/, specifically the bottom section on Migrate with Wordfence, and this was one way I was considering doing things as I have my site in Wordfence Central. If I’m reading this correctly should just copy over the settings and nothing else correct? Otherwise I was thinking of just removing the site from Wordfence Central, doing a clean install on the new instance, and then adding it back during setup. I don’t really care to carry over any database items or anything like that but the settings would most likely save some time. Otherwise I don’t really care about starting completely over.
Thanks.
