Add an Image: add target=_blank

I believe there’s a plugin called Image Manager that can do that.

many folks use xhtml doctype on their themes. target=_blank is invalid code, so why have a core function in wordpress which inserts invalid code?

If that’s the logic for not having it for “Add an image,” then why does the “Insert/edit link” tool have it?

I only know why some folks wouldn’t want it there, but I can’t explain inconsistencies in application!

Probably because no one on dev uses it so no one noticed?
