I’m looking at why Google Webmaster Tools Labs Site Performance says my site has an average load times 10.9 seconds, even though I’m using W3 Total Cache.

Webmaster Tools Page Speed Suggestions and the Firefox Page Speed add-on both say to enable compression, but all the “Enable HTTP (gzip) Compression” options are selected on my W3 Total Cache Browser Cache settings page and GIDZipTest says the web page is compressed. Anyone know why Google wouldn’t recognise the compression?

Sometimes, tools are actually NOT referring to the page and instead are referring to some text-based objects in the page. Can you confirm?

Exactly. You need to minify those CSS and JS files.
