• Hello,

I manage a client’s site and I don’t have access to his PayPal account. I noticed that an old subscriber paid the registration price instead of the subscription price upon renewal.

The configuration of the subscription is:

I don’t know if this is related, but I previously used another PayPal plugin that caused issues. Is it possible that the old subscriptions are misconfigured in PayPal? How could I test the renewal price for the old subscriptions?

    Kind regards.

    Hi @luismotv77

What plugin are you using for subscriptions?

It sounds like your old PayPal plugin might have been creating subscriptions within PayPal’s system.

    Kind Regards

    Hello,

I am using WooCommerce Subscriptions (https://woocommerce.com/products/woocommerce-subscriptions/)

The subscription I mentioned before was created by a customer.

    Kind regards.

    Hi @luismotv77

Can you please confirm if the subscription is being managed by PayPal or by WooCommerce Subscriptions? Some PayPal plugins create the subscription within PayPal for some reason, and so it’s managed there instead of by the WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin.

    Kind Regards

    Hello,

The subscription is being managed by WooCommerce Subscriptions. Payment Plugins for PayPal WooCommerce is the only plugin I have installed for the moment.

II’m not sure if this is related to the charge without the membership discount., but I found that at the moment the customer canceled the subscription, the following error occurred:

    Hi @luismotv77

The error in your screenshot is coming directly from the WooCommerce Subscriptions plugin. Any issues related to incorrect renewal prices being charged would not be related to the PayPal plugin.

Here is how WooCommerce Subscriptions (WCS) works when a renewal payment is processed.

    1. WCS creates the renewal order object, using the subscription object as the template.
    2. Once the renewal order object is created, it passes the amount to charge, and the renewal order to the payment plugin.
    3. The PayPal plugin processes the payment for the renewal order and then returns to WCS for additional post payment processing.

    Kind Regards
