Please help with page information

  • Just a quick one.

    I have customised twentyten to create a different looking site. I have a long way to go with it yet but when I use default page theme I do not see ‘posted by admin’ etc which is good.

    I duplicated index.php and renamed it to create a home page template with a slider on the right hand side which looks good but for some reason when I use that template on any page I see the following above the page content

    I do not want to see this for pages.

    Anyone know why this is happenening?

    Hope someone can help me.

  • Don’t edit the Twenty Ten theme! Your changes will be over-written the next time you upgrade WordPress or the theme. For this reason, it is recommended that you consider creating a child theme for your customisations.

    OK thank you for the advice.

    I have now done that but I am still having this issue for content to my home page page template.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    You need to start by creating your custom page template using page.php as your template – not index.php.
