• I installed wordpress on a raspberry pi running apache2. After going through the wizard/setup. I created a temporary post. And I could access the website using https://192.168.0.6 .

This raspberry pi is on a network with IPv6 address. I have a ddns domain name and I correctly mapped the IPv6 address of raspberry pi. And correct firewall rules are placed on my router. I verified that apache2 landing page can be reachable from external network using the ddns domain name.

However when I try to access the wordpress website using the ddns name from an external network, it just spins indefinitely and page is not being loaded. (I can see it detected the site, but simply wont load full)

    Any thoughts?

  • We can hardly help you with the configuration of your network here. In WordPress, however, you must enter the domain that is used for the call in the settings – not the local IP. This may already be a problem in your case.

    Thank you. That was it.
I logged in to wp-admin console and Settings->General changed WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) to my actual ddns domain name and it worked.

I have another question, if you don’t mind.
I want https:///%5Bb%5D%5Bu%5Dwp-admin%5B/u%5D%5B/b%5D wp-admin to be opened only from LAN and not via internet. Is that possible be done? I tried creating .htaccess file inside wp-admin folder with LAN ip range mentioned, but its not working.
