If I choose WooCommerce > Email Customizer then it opens what begins to look like an email version of the native WooCommerce theme customizer. The box at the top states “You are customizing Woocommerce Emails.”

Below are the correct options for customizing emails in a version of the native WordPress customizer.

The preview pane then loads the website rather than email previews. The box at the top still states “You are customizing Woocommerce Emails.” but below are only the standard WordPress native customizer options.

The extra information in the box that states I am customizing woocommerce emails says “

“Use native WordPress Customizer to make Woocommerce emails match your brand.

Kadence Woocommerce Email Designer?plugin by?Kadence Themes.”

I am indeed using the native WordPress customizer but as it is loading, all the email customization options disappear. It leaves me with only theme customization options.

It is not the first time I have used the plugin. It worked great, but I needed to refund a client and afterwards I went into admin to check there is actually a template that I have edited. I can no longer access the custom emails.

Is there a way to open the plugin that I am not understanding? The same happens when I open it from the plugin menu.

    Hi @colombiamark

I’m glad you reached out. I’ll be happy to help!

I have the Kadence WooCommerce Email Designer installed on my test system and the Customizer loads from both the WooCommerce menu as well as the plugin listing. Here are a few things you can check:

Let us know if any of those steps help. If not, you may need to dig a little deeper.

    Thanks for your reply Anthony.

I do have console errors and I eliminated all other possibilities so I am going to have to set about updating WP, WC and Kadence Email Customizer. I did update the plugin but it still did not work.

OK I tried to update everything. I cloned the site because I knew updates would break the site.

I updated WP. This broke taxonomy

I updated the theme and associated plugins. This broke all my titles and layout.

I tried to update WooCommerce from plugins but it told me I was using an outdated version of PHP. I could not update PHP to a new version without causing a critical error. So I continued with 7.4.33

I updated WooCommerce from the WP Dashboard. That seemed to work despite the PHP being outdated.

    I updated WooCommerce database

At this point I still have the same issue with Email Customizer loading the wrong preview and then reverting to theme customization.

Figuring it is my theme, I switched to TwentyTwenty and had the same issue.

I then decided to deactivate all plugins apart from theme plugins, WooCommerce, and Kadence Email Customizer. Sadly that caused a “critical error on this website” which I have no idea how to fix but at least I have only killed the clone.

It does seem though that this problem is quite difficult to get rid of in my case

    Hi @colombiamark

If you’re having trouble updating WordPress and/or plugins, I would highly recommend that you reach out to your hosting provider for assistance. They should be able to assist with any errors you are seeing. They should also be able to assist with updating your PHP to a current version. Once you have everything updated, we can then see if you’re still having issues with the Kadence plugin.

Let us know how it goes!

    Thanks,
    Anthony
