This is my first time using this plugin and I like it best compared to other’s that claim the same features…but I am finding it hard to figure out how to build a physical sitemap (not by hand) like this plugin says it does:

    • HTML Sitemap
Generate an HTML sitemap to help visitors navigate your site.

I know the plugin dynamically builds both the XML and HTML (virtual) versions and those can be seen here:

    Sitemap: https://v2.jaydavis.com/sitemap.xml
    Sitemap: https://v2.jaydavis.com/sitemap.html

But for me the sitemap.html file is just another XML file, it’s not an actual Unordered List ( <ul> ) HTML file that I can link to in a menu or what not. Can someone fill me in on if I am just doing this wrong?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • I have exactly the same query – how “Generate an HTML sitemap to help visitors navigate your site”.

I haven’t gotten anyone that maintains this plugin to respond. It’s really frustrating that they claim this but don’t deliver. I really don’t want to manually build and maintain a sitemap myself.

On the settings page, the option “Include sitemap in HTML format” (The required PHP XSL Module is not installed)” must be selected. The PHP XSL module must be active to enable this.

@auctollo Look at the link(s) I provided above in the original post. Something is not right with your plugin building an HTML version. It’s actually just building the same XML version. We are/were under the impression that your plugin would build a physical sitemap for example something like this: https://htmlburger.com/sitemap

So ”?Include sitemap in HTML format” is checked and it shows the same sitemap as the xml version but with an .html extension. Is there meant to be an .html version displayed as a hierachial tree?

Also – the text “PHP XSL Module” is not on the settings page. Can you please clarify what this is referring to?

(pardon if hijacking your post @terryapodaca)

The styles are applied to the sitemap index and no sitemap hint in robots.txt either – Are you sure the plugin is fully/properly installed and that other sitemap generators are disabled?
