Subject: Issue with Plugin Not Applying Exchange Rates on New Theme

    Hi there,

I was previously using this plugin with the Tobel theme, and it worked perfectly. However, I recently upgraded to the Woodmart theme for better eCommerce functionality, and since then, the plugin has stopped working as expected.

I’ve manually set up country-specific exchange rates and offer free global delivery, but at checkout, the pricing doesn’t update correctly. While the currency symbol changes based on the delivery country, the actual price remains the same. For example, if a product is £100, selecting the US still shows it as $100 instead of converting based on the exchange rate.

Could you please advise if I’m missing something in the setup? I’d really appreciate your help.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Could you share the WooCommerce System Report? I need to review it to help you solve the problem (WooCommerce > Status > Get System Report > Copy for support and paste)

    Hi,
Could you check if turning off the WooCommerce Payments plugin solves the issue? Also, verify that no currencies are added to the Multi-currency tab that the WooCommerce Payments plugin adds at WooCommerce > Settings.

    Hi Oscar

I disabled the woocommerce payment plugin but no changes.

Also, there is no tab for multi-currency on woocommerce>settings

I’m happy to grant you access so you check it.

@merithome If @oscargare accepts access, and that always comes out, they’ll be banned from this site and their plugin could be removed. It is that serious.

NOTE: Oscar never asked for that and is not in trouble in anyway at all. I’m explaining is all.

If they had made that request, and to be clear they did not ask for that, this would be the reply to them.

While I know you have the best of intentions, it’s forum policy that you not ask users for admin or server access. Users on the forums aren’t your customers, they’re your open source collaborators, and requesting that kind of access can put you and them at high risk.

If they are paying customers (such as people who bought a premium service/product from you) then by all means, direct them to your official customer support system. But in all other cases, you need to help them here on the forums.

Thankfully are other ways to get information you need:

    • Ask the user to install the Health Check plugin and get the data that way.
    • Ask for a link to the https://pastebin.com/ or https://gist.github.com log of the user’s web server error log.
    • Ask the user to create and post a link to their phpinfo(); output.
    • Walk the user through enabling WP_DEBUG and how to log that output to a file and how to share that file.
    • Walk the user through basic troubleshooting steps such and disabling all other plugins, clear their cache and cookies and try again (the Health Check plugin can do this without impacting any site visitors).
    • Ask the user for the step-by-step directions on how they can reproduce the problem.

    You get the idea.

We know volunteer support is not easy, and this guideline can feel needlessly restrictive. It’s actually there to protect you as much as end users. Should their site be hacked or have any issues after you accessed it, you could be held legally liable for damages. In addition, it’s difficult for end users to know the difference between helpful developers and people with malicious intentions. Because of that, we rely on plugin developers and long-standing volunteers (like you) to help us and uphold this particular guideline.

When you help users here and in public, you also help the next person with the same problem. They’ll be able to read the debugging and solution and educate themselves. That’s how we get the next generation of developers.

    Dear Jan Dembowski,

Thank you for your message. I sincerely apologize, I was unaware of the policy and didn’t realize it was an issue. This was entirely my mistake, and no one instructed me to do it.

I will make sure to follow your guidelines moving forward.

    Thanks,

The problem is caused by a discount plugin that overrides the price. Using a different discount plugin solves the problem.
