Apparently the devs though that this plugin was “too complex” for people to handle, so now all you get are 2 buttons, which you hope do what you`d expect. This plugin used to be great but unfortunately it’s not anymore.

    Hi @nolfnolf,

We hear your frustration, and we’re sorry that the update hasn’t met your expectations. Our goal was to simplify the experience, but we understand that many users relied on the advanced options from previous versions.

We’ve already brought back custom scheduling and backup history based on user feedback, and we’re working on restoring more flexibility, including the ability to create multiple jobs.

In the meantime, if the current version doesn’t suit your needs, you can roll back to 4.1.7 here: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/backwpup/advanced/.

We appreciate you sharing your thoughts and hope you’ll stick with us as we continue improving BackWPup.

    Kind regards,
    The BackWPup Team

Thank you for the reply. I suggest, in the future, to run a community poll and understand your user needs, so you`d avoid this rain of 1* reviews. Nobody asked for (this level of) simplified experience.

I like Wp Media but this was a bad move.
    Have a nice day.

    Hi @nolfnolf,

Thank you for taking the time to follow up.

That’s a fair suggestion, and we recognize the importance of better understanding user needs. We’re taking your feedback seriously and using it to guide our next steps, both in restoring functionality and improving how we communicate changes in the future.

We truly appreciate your support for WP Media, and we hope that upcoming updates will bring BackWPup back to where it meets your needs.

Wishing you a great day too!
