I need to control the format of my users posts

  • All,

    I am using WP as a cafe reviewing site and have multiple users who add reviews.

    My problem is that I want to standardise the way that they write their posts in the following manner.

    *************************************************************
    Cafe Name
    Street, City
    State, Country

    Review………………………………………………………End Review
    *************************************************************

    I am not susre how to do this…

    1. Do I add sample copy into the “Post” field?
    2. Do I add additional fields in post.php and somehow parse these into the post when viewed in a browser?

  • The simple way probably would be to add those “headings” you showed above to the post form. Not foolproof but less chance they would omit them ??

    You’re right moshu, I added the copy to my editform file and it worked a treat as an interim solution… thanks.

    HOWEVER, if anyone has a recommendation in terms of creating actual fields that a user is forced to fill I’d be stoked.
