404 after credit cart payment

The issue you have raised has not been replicated on our end. Could you please confirm whether the payment was successful? You may check your Stripe dashboard by navigating to Developers -> Logs to find any entries related to this payment and verify the order status is success. Additionally, please provide us with the system status report by accessing WooCommerce -> Status -> System Status and selecting the option to obtain the status report.

The order is saved but with the status “Payment pending”. Unfortunately I don’t have access to the Stripe dashboard at the moment, the report is here (from a local test system, which is a 1:1 copy of the live system and where the problem occurs in identical form):

Thanks for sharing the system status report. We tried to replicate this issue on our testing environment and couldn’t succeed. Can you share your eh_stripe_pay_dead logs and wt_stripe_oauth logs from WooCommerce -> Status -> logs privately using this link so that we can analyse it and provide a solution?.

I would like to do this, but I can’t find any of the logs mentioned here. Do I have to activate anything for them to be written?

Kindly ensure that you enable debug logging in our plugin settings. Towards the end of the plugin dashboard you can see this option.

This has been activated for some time now. However, the log files mentioned are not generated for the request mentioned above.

We will investigate why the logs are not present. However, are you sure that logs were also absent from your staging site? If you have any logs from the staging site, share them privately?using this link.

Yes, the logs are generated neither in Live nor in Staging. I made additional test orders yesterday and no logs were generated in any case.

However, that would also be logical for me. If the log is only generated when you return to the store from Stripe – but the user sees the 404 page. In this case, obviously no functionality is called by your plugin, which is why the log is missing. The decisive question for me is why the 404 page is generated?

We couldn’t replicate this issue in our test environment. It appears to be site-specific. To help us debug this issue with the Stripe integration, we need to check the plugin settings and potentially perform some test transactions. Could you share the PHP error logs privately using this link for further debugging?

Unfortunately, there is nothing in the error log.

In the meantime, I have analyzed the problem myself in detail in a staging. The problem arises as soon as this custom path for products is specified under Settings > Permalinks: /%product_cat%/./

As soon as this is set, the page is not accessible when Stripe returns.

We use this setting for SEO reasons. The products are all preceded by their category.

Do you have any ideas?

Note: in my staging are only active: WooCommerce + your plugin + Storefront as theme. In the permalinks is set:

Category-Base: .
Category-Products-Base: .
Product permalink: /%product_cat%/./

Otherwise everything is WordPress standard I think.
