Chopping the categories list in two?

My category list is getting really long, nearly 10,000 pixels long. I’d really like to chop it and split it into two column. Is there anyway to chop the categories list in two.

Essentially I’m looking for some code that shows categories from A through M and then another snippet for N through Z.

I’m sure there are other ways to solve this problem which I’m also open to.
