SMTP Plugins overload my server

  • Hi,

    I have a tech-news blog (https://www.databits.com.pt) and my hosting service provider does not allow me tu use PHP’s mail() function. So, I need a plugin to modify WordPress to use SMTP as the mailing blog function.

    I used some plugins that do what I want, and they work great but my server starts to “eat” too much resources.

    In the past, my host suspended my account for that :S

    I tried “WP Mail SMTP” and “HGK SMTP” and they both have the same consequences. The site starts to run very slowly in just 2 or 3 days after I install the plugin.

    Anyone knows where the problem?
