• Background:
I am using wordpress to help a client manage a very small website. I have set WP up to allow the client to edit a few static pages as well as add press releases to the site.

WP contains only a “news” category. “news” is the default category on all posts.

WP directory was renamed to “content”.

I edited the “Permalink Structure” to “/%category%/%post_id%” so I can use a domain.com/content/news/id

    Problem:
I am unable to display the actual press release post when the link from the category page listing is clicked.

I set up a category page template to list all of the “news” postings. On the “news” category page the date, title and an excerpt from that post are listed for each press release. Currenlty the date and title are being linked to the full press release with ““>TEXT

For some reason when the link is clicked to go to the press release the post is not showing as expected. I think I have been customizing this thing for too long and am missiong something really simple.

You can see it in action at:
Category Listing (displays as intended): https://www.newdaytrust.com/content/news/

Link from Category page (not working): https://www.newdaytrust.com/content/news/6

    Desired Press Release: https://www.newdaytrust.com/content/

Thanks for any pointers on this one. The post is in the system, I just can’t figure out what I am doing wrong to display it…
